Pretty Foods
For the past few years my family has been into healthy food. I've gotten really interested in vegetables and fruits and what they do for you. There are some really interesting and cool fruits and vegetables you've never seen. So here are some different kinds of strange food.
Summer squash
Purple of Sicily Cauliflower

D'Alger melon
Some......... sort of beautiful artichokes.
These are only some of the beautiful fruits and veggies that are around the world. The melons are making my mouth water right now. They just look so delicious! Don't worry, I know I'm weird.

Home
I've been doing lots of yard work. Mostly clearing out the weeds. We have a big backyard out in the country. Our house is at the end of a road, so we don't get a lot of cars passing us unless they're farmers in their trucks or tractors. There are four fields surrounding our house.
In our backyard, there are lots of bark paths with railroad ties to frame the paths and keep the bark in place. Having bark paths makes it easier to pull weeds and get around when it's rainy and muddy.
We have chickens, ducks, goats, a sheep, two cats, and two dogs. In the backyard we have to two cottages that my dad made and a garden we're trying to keep up. Some big fruitless mulberry trees in the front yard to block some of the wind that comes toward our house. We also have a small orchard with a few different kinds of fruit tree's. A cherry tree, two apple trees, two apricot trees, three figs, a peach tree, and a tangerine tree. Our house has an add-on dining/school room that we also made for space. As we have a lot of people around.
When you live in the country, there are a lot of different sounds you don't hear in town. Birds in different seasons come in large amounts and the sound is overwhelming. Crickets at night, tractors working in the fields, planes and helicopters, goats, chickens and ducks are very chatty, tree's in the wind, and sometimes I hear the whistle of a train down the road. Leaving home someday is going to be hard. I love it here. Oh! The raisin bread just got out of the oven! It smells sooooooo good. My mom makes raison bread for Sunday mornings.

True Love
This is one of my favorite songs by Phil Wickham. It explains how Jesus Christ took our place and died willingly on the cross for us and that He rose again in three days. He says "Jesus is alive Jesus is alive He rose again." Jesus was victorious over death. It hits me hard to think that God loves me enough to give himself up for me. A sinner who doesn't deserve to even live. God gives us a choice not just to live, but to live forever in heaven giving praise to Him. That's why this song is called "True Love." It took God's true love to save us.

some hard times
There has been a lot of crazy things happening lately. Everybody has been getting the flu. our friend got really sick and she had to go to the hospital. While she was there she was coughing so much that she cracked a rib.
My brother Joshua was playing softball and he was the catcher, the ball went from the pitcher to the batter and the batter hit the softball backwards (somehow) into Joshua's nose. So his nose is sliced open about an inch long and kind of deep. It's pretty high on his nose. He got 5 stitches across his nose. It's all swollen and he has two black eyes.
Me, my brother Ben, and my mom are sick. We have really bad coughs, headaches, and we're really tired. It's hard for me to sleep at night because of my throat and headache. It. Is. Miserable.
One of our friends drowned in her own pool the other day and my sister lost her baby. Even through all these things I'm putting my trust in the Lord and refreshing myself by reading from the Bible in James 1:2-4. These few verses are really cool.
Even through this stuff I can be joyful, knowing that God has a plan and a place for everything and everyone.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Memory in the Grand Canyon
Last year me, my sister and my brother went to hike the Grand Canyon with our friends. We took two days to get there and four days to hike rim to rim. Then another two days to get back. It was really fun and hard. We were going slow enough that it wasn't as hard. Since we were going for four days we had big packs on. While we hiked we saw people running past us with tiny packs and a water bottle in hand. Then we would see people running at midnight while we were trying to sleep.
On our first night, Ben, Bonnie and Katie were trying to put together our first meal. We decided the girls would make the dinner and Ben would clear a place for our sleeping area. Ben made his own broom out of branches and string he found. He made a nice little area for sleeping. So Bonnie, Katie and I started out putting together a little cooker to make rice. Our plan didn't work very well. We couldn't figure out this rice, because it was different from what we were used to. Ben ended up finishing the sleeping area and then making rice. He just randomly tried something and he kept on pouring out water and adding rice. We all watched and had it in our mind for the next night. That was the sad story for us girls, but it's too funny to be sad or disappointed in myself or the other girls.

The Violin
The violin is a stringed instrument that is sometimes called a fiddle. The word violin comes from the Medieval Latin word vitula, meaning stringed instrument. The violin was originated from Italy. It has a bunch of different little parts on it that have names that make sense. For example, the parts that look like shoulders are called the shoulders, and the board where you put your fingers is called the fingerboard.
The oldest documented violin to have four strings, like the modern violin, is supposed to have been constructed in 1555 by Andrea Amati. (Other violins, documented earlier, only had three strings and were called violetta.)
The violin immediately became very popular, both among street musicians and the nobility. A French king, Charles IX ordered Amati to construct 24 violins for him in 1560.
The strings on a bow are usually made by long strands of a horses mane. You shouldn't touch them though because of the oils on your fingers. Every time you play you rub rosin (which you also shouldn't touch directly) on the bow strings.
I love violins! I play the violin, but I haven't played for that long, but I know that I will end up playing for a long time. They are so beautiful and I love the sound they make. Especially when the violin makes a beautiful ringing sound while you play.

This is a really funny and random picture of a friend who is playing the guitar like a violin. with a metal rod instead of a bow.

What my day is usually consumed of
I'm just going to use a Wednesday as an example of one of my school days.
At about 6:00, I wake up and go running down and a dirt road and back that all together makes a mile. Then at 6:30 I watch an interesting show about animals with my little brothers while eating breakfast. After the show we clean up from breakfast and start school. During the morning I study my Bible. At 10:00 my brother-in-law Joel, comes over and tutors me in math. Then after he leaves I do more school till 11:40 and then I eat lunch, (Every time I have a class I feel extremely hungry afterwards.) After I finish lunch I'll sit by the fire and crochet and get warm or I'll read.
For a few more hours I take time to finish off my school work and after that I feed the animals there hay and refill there water. After that I need to get ready for band practice, witch means getting dinner into myself and changing. Band practice is at 5:30 - 6:45. At 7:00 youth group starts. It goes till about 9:00. Then I go home and get ready for bed. When I get in bed I pray then go to sleep.
So that's pretty much my normal Wednesday. Other days have more or less in them.

Brian's school of dance
My little brother, Brian gets half the people at Joel and Jessica's wedding to start dancing and he didn't even know it for the longest time. A few night's after the wedding we watched it about 5 times. Every time I watched it I started laughing SO hard. Brian was excited when he saw himself on the computer. He was also a little surprised that it went on that long.
Someday when I'm really old I want to do something really dangerous. Like, really crazy things. I don't know why, but it would be something to look forward to. When I'd get to that old age I'd actually get excited about getting old. Don't worry though, I won't actually do something like killing myself by jumping off something.
I'm probably going to be the opposite kind of old lady anyway. One that stays home knitting, crocheting, cleaning and being with grandchildren. So I should probably stop thinking about doing something crazy at an old age, cause it's not gonna happen.
